Dr. Herschel Kreloff, Artistic Director of the Civic Orchestra, has led the orchestra since 1980. He brings years of experience, as both educator and performer, to his position as conductor. Using his masterful conducting skills, Dr. Kreloff has steadily advanced COT's level of performance. Dr. Kreloff earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Arizona State University, and his Doctorate from the University of Arizona. He has taught band and orchestra at every grade level in the public schools in Phoenix and Tucson. As a performer, he has played trumpet in both the Phoenix and Tucson Symphony Orchestras, as well as numerous pit orchestras, stage bands, and dance bands that were active in those communities. He has conducted a Phoenix chamber orchestra and was assistant conductor of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra under Gregory Millar. Dr. Kreloff is also the director of the Tucson Concert Band.
