Naomi Turner is eleven years old, the youngest of five children and homeschooled. She began studying the cello five years ago under the careful guidance of Mary Beth Tyndall and continues in her studio today.
Naomi lives in the country outside of Vail and loves to play with her four dogs. Besides the cello, Naomi studies piano, tap, and Irish dancing. She also enjoys mountain biking on the Arizona trails.
In 2017, Naomi was a finalist in the Tucson Symphony Young Artist's Competition, winning 2nd prize. She has won the Civic Orchestra of Tucson's Young Artists' Competition in both 2017 and 2018, and in 2016 was winner of the Tucson Cello Congress competition. Last year she performed with the Arizona Symphonic Winds.
She has enjoyed being a member of the Vail Youth Symphony this year. Naomi is very excited to be attending the Rocky Ridge Music Center in Estes Park, Colorado, this summer.
