Orly was born on May 2, 2008, in Tucson and started playing the piano when she was about three and a half years old. Orly's first piano teacher was Mrs. Cecilia Whitby, a well respected and loved piano teacher in the Tucson community. Orly's current piano teacher is Dr. Svetlana Arakelova, who has a reputation of being an outstanding and superb piano teacher with many students winning numerous competitions locally and statewide. Orly has been with Dr. Arakelova for three and half years and has made tremendous improvement ever since.
Orly has won several competitions, including:
2015 and 2017: The Civic Orchestra of Tucson Young Artists’ Competition – both First Places in the Junior Piano Division (for Grades 8 and under).
2015 and 2016: The Arizona State Music Teachers Association’s James R. Anthony Honors Recital – Medalists with Distinction (the highest possible award).
2015 and 2016: Tucson Musical Teachers Association (TMTA) Merit Scholarship Auditions – First Prizes in Solo A Division
Orly loves music so much that she has forced her mom to let her take violin lessons.
Being an enthusiastic student at school, Orly was very blessed to be selected for its gifted and talented program. Although a third grader, she is learning fourth grade math and fifth grade English.
In her spare time, Orly is passionate about reading autobiographies, history, fantasy, and mythology books, among others. In addition, she has been dancing ballet since she was two and a half years old to improve body coordination.
The last, but not the least important, Orly is a girl with a kind heart. After hearing a story about a girl who grows vegetables to feed homeless people, Orly is determined to become a farmer in the future as well, so more people will be fed.
